He takes time to understand each patient’s concerns, explain what he sees in clear language, and help patients make informed decisions without pressure or judgment. His goal is to make dental visits feel comfortable, collaborative, and manageable—especially for patients who are nervous, in pain, or returning after time away from care.

 

Born in Oakland and raised in Alameda, Dr. Joe is grateful to have returned home to practice alongside his father and brother. Before becoming a dentist, he trained and worked as a registered dental hygienist, giving him valuable experience in preventive care, gum health, and patient education.

Dr. Joe earned degrees in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He later completed the dual Doctor of Dental Medicine and Master of Business Administration program at Roseman University.

 

His experience also includes international volunteer service aboard the USNS Mercy and an externship at Tokyo Medical and Dental University.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Joe serves as a Volunteer Clinical Professor at the UCSF School of Dentistry.

 

Outside the office, he enjoys photography, pickleball, traveling, exploring Bay Area food, cheering for the Golden State Warriors, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and cats.
