What to expect at your first visit

1. We listen first

Tell us what brought you in, what concerns you, and what you hope to accomplish.

2. We carefully evaluate your oral health

Your visit may include necessary images, a clinical examination, gum evaluation, and a discussion of your dental history.

3. We explain what we find

You will be shown and told what we see in clear language.

4. We review your options

When treatment is recommended, we will discuss priorities, alternatives, timing, and estimated costs.

What to bring to your first appointment:

  • Photo identification

  • Insurance information

  • Completed health history forms, when applicable

  • A list of allergies and current medical conditions

  • Medication list

Will I have a cleaning at my first visit?

We will make every effort to provide your cleaning at your first visit when appropriate. Your dentist will first complete an examination and review your oral health to determine the type of cleaning or treatment that is best for you.

If a routine cleaning is appropriate, we will plan to complete it during the visit whenever scheduling allows. If your examination shows that you need a different type of gum treatment or additional care, we will explain our findings, review your options, and discuss any expected costs before proceeding.

Our goal is to make your first visit as productive and comfortable as possible while making sure the care you receive is appropriate for your individual needs.
